Sorry, I live in Issaan but have not heard of your town before. If you dont get any advice go to the nearest place that sells water pumps and ask them.

What you seem to be doing is not rocket science and most small towns have someone who does this type of stuff. Or look for a small commercial building site or new housing project in your nearest town and ask to speak to the boss. Sounds like you need a friend's wife who can speak thai and english to go with you if your partner's translation skills are basic and you don't have any good thai speaking falang at hand.

Yes the price is probably going to be more expensive than it would be for a local - but sem-skilled labour is still cheap as chips in Issaan. I usually give a days pay (say 250 baht, plus materials) to anyone who takes more than a couple of hours to fix something around the house. OK - I could get away with less but it makes them happy and willingly available for the next mishap at 6am some Sunday morning.

Its not rocket science, but it may be worth to do search on tipps "how to".

E.g. to install plenty of valves and bypasses (e.g. be able to bypass the pump and/or the tank).

Sorry I can not give you details, depends on your specific needs.

If you don't give instructions/requirements they will do it in a very basic way and you might be unhappy later.

Is a filter needed? (also valves and bypass suggested in case of clogged filter etc.).

It may be hard to find a company to do it. If you were to go to local hardware (or building supply) store where they sell the pumps pipe ans such you might ask them if they know somebody to do the job and buy everything you need yourself.

I have done everything like that myself with a bit of help from some friends in the village.

The usual practice in the villages is for the local (typically part-time) builders to do this kind of work, and as some of the posts above suggest they may not do a particularly good job. When I acquired my tank and pump I bought the gear myself and got my local builder to help put it in with a bit of my own input. I think the point about valves and bypass above is excellent advice. All I would add is make sure the valves are of good quality and don't let your helper sink everything under concrete (I've had to change a couple of valves and it makes it harder if they are sunk into some little hole). With the standard Thai plastic pipes the tank/pump bit isn't that hard as a DIY job, but it would make sense to check your proposed pipe layout with somebody who has experience.
