Lets just get rid of all the laws, balances and checks and let the politicians rüun riot and empty government coffers and do what they want ?

Is that not called a coup?

Your obviously weren't around when Taksin declared himself stand in prime minister. The last coup occurred because of abuse of power. I was around when it happened and understand why it occurred.

Methodology.......not cause and effect!........take control....ignore all laws....rewrite them to absolve yourself of any blame, and prevent charges being laid at a later date.....install your 'government' and judicial representatives......

Sure make the penalties harsher for those individuals proven to break electoral laws, jail time and lifetime bans from any political activity or government-paid position.

But not punishing the party as a whole, if this were effectively enforced the country would have to start over from a clean slate every round of elections.

Well there is always the alternative of obeying electoral law. Nah, that's no fun, scrap the penalties instead.

Dems didn't follow 'electoral law' but were allowed to slither off the hook on a technicality.

Ya' win some, ya' lose some.

RICO would be an appropriate moniker for a Thai political party..... 'it does exactly what it says on the tin.'

Do you think you could try to express yourself in coherent sentences rather than stream of consciousness points? Your style makes your posts difficult to understand, possibly the intent to cover flawed logic and historical revision.

Time to start jailing people for electoral fraud instead.

Agreed ban them for life and give them jail time.

Dissolving the party for the misdeeds of a few serves no purpose. Permant disbarment and jail time will serve as a determent to others trying to get away with it.

Of course the law would have to be enforced and there in could be a problem.sad.png

You mean like Yingluk's perjury, or Jatuporn et al LM cases which didn't manage to get anywhere near a judge? You don't need technicalities when you have politically persuadable lackeys.

You may have to get Mrs BPG to change the newspaper in your cage.

Or AV & ST's mass murder charges while you're at it!

OzMick

You are giving him to munch credit.

I was not here at the time. But was wondering if Thaksin declared himself Prime Minister with out being elected not be a coup.

Oddly enough I had been here for a month that Feb and was intending on coming back for a six month real look around. Couldn't make up my mind on a date and when I heard the news was inspired to go get my ticket for two weeks later.

Doubt that will ever happen.

But not punishing the party as a whole, if this were effectively enforced the country would have to start over from a clean slate every round of elections.

Only those MP's that are make up the Party executive board are banned from politics for committing electoral fraud. Similar to the RICO act, they are considered co-conspirators by virtue of their positions.

If the penalties were more severe and included jail time, the recidivism would likely diminish.

Ohhhh the Dem's did this/that.

Jesus poo. It still does not make it right does it. Maybe if the Mp's didn't have immunity on these charges that would help stop ALL such shenanigans.

Don't forget that birdpoo SUPPORTS corruption.

Why bother twisting others' words for a childish attempt to score points? I said 'you can't blame someone for playing by the rules', which for the intellectually challenged who can't interpret it doesn't mean that I support corruption but simply acknowledge its presence.

"Relatives of the six people shot dead in Wat Pathum Wanaram on May 19 have filed police complaints accusing PM Abhisit Vejjajiva of premeditated murder. . . Pheu Thai spokesperson Prompong Nopparit yesterday took the relatives to file murder charges against Abhisit, Deputy PM Suthep Thaugsuban, General Anupong Paochinda and high-ranking officials supervising the troops at the time. They also submitted video clips and photos taken in the temple

were these "complaints" ever turned into "charges"?

Try to understand that the rules forbid corruption, but most players attempt to ignore/subvert those rules. Your logically flawed argument is that one person shouldn't be challenged for breaking those rules, but to stop corruption you have to start with one person. Therefore, by opposing a start to ending it, you are supporting corruption.

By supporting the basis for how and why corruption isn't reigned in,

by default becomes suport for corruption. No escaping that logic.

Making excuses for inaction, is defacto support.

Brilliant, first post for a while you have got straight to the point, not confused your message by trying to make snide comments, or smart ass comments in an attempt to impress your 'audience'......please use this technique in future......
