Planning on doing a ride to Petchabun this weekend. I'm sure at least a few have done this trip on here. Any ideas on the route? I was thinking either:

Option 1

Asian HWY to 11 to 113 to 21

Option 2

Hwy 1 to Hwy 21

Option 2 looks like a better choice as far as I can tell. Just want to have the best scenery and the least traffic. I've done the Asian HWY to Chiang Mai and it was fuc_king boring but never rode the 21. All input is welcome.

Either way there's nothing much to see until you actually get a bit north of Petchabun

As bigbikebkk mentioned, there are no good ways to get up there without being incredibly bored and sucking down fumes. If you're coming up from the western side of BKK, than the 340 is a bit faster because there's less traffic. It's also in better condition. Also the 113 is rather interesting, but slow. I would recommend that over the faster 21 which has areas that have gotten rough due to flooding and is a 4 lane quite a ways.
