That's what we call them in OZ lol, speed humps.

I work with a lot of Aussies, they speak their own version of Engrish very similar to Canadian Newfies. :D Not surprised they call speed bump a speed hump. lol

When my Thai gf introduced me to her friends, Miss Aey, Miss Noi, Mr Kid, Miss Poo ...

I did a double take and asked that name again ... Miss Poo.

Humm ... she doesn't have many Farang friends does she?

So yes, the Poo and Porn does appear quite a bit in the translations!

I once met a girl in Thailand who had what I decided was the best name ever created: Supaporn.

My sister in law is called Nippaporn which would be quite illegal around surf clubs.

This picture of a sign for a transgendered restroom had a caption with it stating it was taken in a Thai high school.

Anyone remember this from a few years ago on the beach road in Patong?

Around this area of Issan the most laughable signs are posted along all the roads leading to Town at about 250 metre spacing. They depict a Motor CycleRider Helmet with the wording below "100%". An obvious mistake for from observation of the traffic it is a missprint and should read "0%".

Agreeing with you ... I spat my coffee when I viewed this one.

I wonder if they did that on purpose?

Easy to spot them - they never smile. rolleyes.gif

Actually I have met one or two Supaporn ... and I just smile quietly inside ... whistling.gif

My stockbroker (I know it sounds wanky to say it like that ... but it's the best descriptor)

Her name is Miss Supaluk ... and many a time I have accidentally typed Miss Superluck ... rolleyes.gif

She justs 5555 (laughs) and politely corrects me.

Does anyone have a photo of a Dr Jack clinic sign ?

Might want to say what City it is ...

It must be too early for me. What's wrong with that "The Australian" sign?

THe second map does not include Tasmania.....biggrin.png

Maps of Tasmania are available for purchase inside that particular establishment.

May not be there now but it was in Pattaya and there was more than one. I also remember seeing a photo in I think it was the Sugarshack and showed a bloke walking away from the door doing up his fly and the sign was in the background.

For future postings, maybe a better format is 1 photo, 1 posting.

Just a suggestion ... and thanks to everyone who has contributed to date.

However, one of the best. From the San Kamphaeng Hot Springs in CM province;

SANY0172.jpg

Not within the theme of the thread but very unusual and unique. Having taken the 2nd to last domestic flight out of DMK (to Hat Yai) before it was shut down by the PAD in late nov 2008 gave one an interesting notion of what exactly was considered a domestic flight;
