There are 2 condos planned for Ubon. 1 is 19 stories and will be near Big C. Another one is 20 stories and they are still in the early stages of choosing a location. The 19 story one is supposedly confirmed though.

Since you'll be in town for a visit anyway, I would first concentrate on choosing the school since that is your driving factor. Get around, visit the schools, and try to narrow it down to 2 or 3. Then, get up early & drive around at rush hour in the vicinity of the schools & surrounding areas. Do this for several days, in rain & shine if possible. That should give you lots of data to make your housing selection from.

I really like the idea of renting first. There is no substitute for living in an area for a year to really see what it's like. You might say that you're wasting money on rent, but on the other hand the rest of your money is still in the bank earning interest, plus you'd save yourself from making an expensive mistake and wishing, 2 years later, that you'd bought somewhere else.

They are releasing more info on the 23rd but it's going to be 28,000b per square meter which is pricey if you compare to townhouses which are going for about half that.

All depends on what the facilities are like I guess as well as the outgoing costs. I will keep an eye on proceedings as it is certainly something I am interested in.
