Sports In Chiang Mai

I am coming back to Chiang Mai in October and was wondering if there are many farang friendly amateur sporting competitions.

Basketball is on the top of my list but Tennis, Golf, Table Tennis, Snooker are all things that I would be keen to meet up with fellow enthusiasts for a bit of friendly competition in. Weekly meets etc. Anything happening?

Also a little off topic but in the same vein sort of... A good gym? Or a good monthly apartment with decent facilities?

I quite fancied Muay Thai boxing. But I got destroyed in the ring.

For basketball i see them playing on the courts at CMU all the time, that's really the only place i've seen people regularly.

For gyms, if your into MMA and Muay Thai check out Team Quest Thailand. they are one of the better gyms in the city, there is also Cali WOW fitness center right across the road from them if you need some special machines or weights..

Thanks limegreenpatato! Also looking for some people keen to have a hit of tennis or a round of golf (any cheapish golf spots around?).
