RESIDENTS OF WATERFORD PARK CONDO PROJECT ON RAMA 4 ROAD PROTEST AGAINST PROJECT OWNER

As many as a thousand residents of a city-center condominium project in Bangkok are protesting mistreatment and exploitation by the project owner, who they said have been arranging mischievous activities against residents who complain of matters.

Residents of Waterford Park condominiums on Rama the 4th road in Bangkok are gathered at the base of the condo to request that the project owner, Prasert Kasemkomet (ประเสริฐ เกษมโกเมศ), abide by a court order earlier issued that called for transfer of management to an administration committee made up of the residents.

Waterford Park is a project comprising 13 eight-storey buildings with 480 rooms in total. 2,000 Baht have been collected per room each month since 1996, but the project owner have not disclosed the details of how the money was used. The owner had also refused to transfer management rights to the administrative committee, which was specified in a court order back in 2004.

The people at the gathering disclosed that conducts such as entrance blockage have been carried out against residents who complained, and recently a large amount of garage was dumped in the parking lot, creating much trouble for the residents.
