Bangkok Police Launch New Ez-Bribe Card For Motorists

I have been driving around Thailand for more than 2 years in a SUV that I bought new at the Bangkok Motor show. I drove more than 40.000 km all over Thailand since then. I got fined once for speeding and was very politely asked to follow to the police station to pay 400 baht (28 km/h too fast), in my home country that would have cost me around 8000 baht. I've been stopped a few times at check points, but as soon as the police saw that I am a foreigner, I was waived through with a smile.

I think that some poster do not read the original thread very well. They have their blinkers on and only see the headlines. They do not read other posts. If George had omitted SATIRE how many other posters would have been caught. The small print of notthenation would have been missed by many others. It was like the 1st April post of the banning of Viagra. There were so many posters that read and attacked it. I thinks Georges post was great but in future less hints.

For a small fee (1000 baht per year) I upgraded to the gold ezy-bribe pass and now get redeemable points with every use!

They got you......I only paid 500 baht for the year.......cheesy.gif

Who got who, i wonder... have you tried to use your card yet? hehe

No, not going to. Will keep it as a souvenir.whistling.gif

I framed my card and hang it on the wall.laugh.pngrolleyes.gif

Why not, like a lot of gymnasiums, set up a Standing Order and issue membership cards?

That way, even if I am away from Thailand whilst working (or I am too lazy to visit the highways but still feel better about myself because I have a membership card that says I can use the highways as often as I want), then the BIB can still receive my donation.

Awesome, please make it so....tongue.png

I wonder if they are giving away any of those Sex Toys they confiscated from that warehouse as a gift, and a way of thanking you for their

Ez-Bribe Card business.

I saw a bunch of those Sex Toys on Sukhumvit yesterday as I strolled into the Bier Garden to have a couple of Gin n Tonics with a lime

twist!!!

Come to think of it they must have wholesaled them to the vendors on Sukhumvit!giggle.gif

I think it's disgusting that the supposed protectors of the innocent can flaunt their corruption so blatantly. I've never heard anything so outrageous. I mean, what other country in the world would actually officially produce such a thing as a card to pay illegal bribes. I truly weep for Thailand. I truly do.

The gullibility of the few is far outweighed by the amusement of the many.

the problem is that many of "the many" require the satire tag to distinguish satire. without it the bite rate would be well over 50%.

the excessive use of smileys in posts has led to a general inability of people to read and interpret what they see on their own.

I have always wondered why the police don't carry a mobile swipe machine. Would seriously save a lot of time and boost revenues too. laugh.png

No..I hope my girl friend doesn't find out about this. She will want 1w00t.gif

Knocking shops seem to be getting in on the act too! They've come up with one called the 'EZ-cum EZ-go' card.

Is it true some Pattaya establishments are negotiating with the airlines to establish frequent-fcuker miles?
