My guess is that most of us have come across individuals like this, either in person or online, and don’t as a rule give them the time of day. Rebroadcasting their rants, and replies to them, does little to dissuade them from their obnoxious behavior and may have the opposite effect of encouraging them.

(And I mostly avoid the "closed to all but the selected few section" here to avoid the Australian bashing threads).
