My wife (Lao national) and I are married in both the UK and Lao. We are expecting a child, she's 3 months pregnant. I decided to return to the UK a month ago in order to re establish myself in my old Job so I can sponsor her myself to come to the UK on a spouse visa. We were married in the UK just before they changed the rules about getting married there on a visitor visa. We returned to Lao when we said we would therefore honouring the v-visa. We have all our paperwork in order with much help from this forum. Information from the embassy says that I should provide 6 months pay slips OR show that I am able to support her. Obviously we'd like her to come over as soon as possible due to the fact that she's expecting a child. I have provided bank statements showing that I have just over 2000 pounds, savings accumulated whilst working in Lao. I have a very good letter from my employer saying he's very happy that I've returned to my job and that he can gaurantee that I'll have a more than adequate wage for the forseeable future and that my skills are greatly needed in this particular field at the moment.

Like I said the Information from the embassy says that I should provide 6 months pay slips OR show that I am able to support her

I was wondering what you guys think our chances are of getting a spouse visa. I feel that I couldnt possibly state a better case. I really don't want to have to work for several months before applying. Everything's covered but this one thing.

Any thoughts? I'd be grateful for your feedback.

Cheers

Wayner,

Support the application with as many wage slips as you have and explain in the covering letter that you have no more as you've only just returned to the UK.

Nowhere in the immigration rules does it state that an application has to be supported by 6 months' wage slips. Providing that you can otherwise substantiate your claim to be able to take care of your wife, the visa officer cannot justify refusal solely on the grounds of an insufficent number of pay slips when the other documentation suggests that the maintenance criterion is satisfied.

Cheers,

Scouse.

It`s a long time since the wife came to the Uk.

When I submitted the paperwork I submitted 3 months payslips and as much evidence that I could think of.

3 months payslip were fine, they were more interested in the letter from my employer.

So hopefully you should be ok.

Good luck.......
