Hi can anyone give good advise on the areas that are less expensive but still well conected . ie obviously central BKK is premium prices how far down sukumvite road or up Payathai road do I have to go before the prices drom but still be on a good convienient stop on the underground or BTS.

I should think I would prefer to be down Sukumvit road but if going out to Ari or Huai Kwang to get a decent apartment at a reasonable price well, this is what I'm trying to find out .

My job is going to be taking me to many of 5 * hotels around BKK and and has a HQ. in Sukumvit 42 so any suggestions of prefect locations to set myself up in .

1)Must not be boring area

2)must be close to transport.

3) close to reasonable priced restaurants

4) convieniet for areas mentioned

any one want to throw in expected cost of living and apartment please do.

I have to state what salary I expect, well having not lived in BKK for serveral years I dont want to price myself out of a job or sound too cheap.

cheers all.

Decent studio apartments can be had in the Phra Khanong area for under B10,000. Best method to find is hire a moto taxi driver to drive you around the neighborhood. They know all the buildings that rent to farangs and most buildings have an office on the ground floor.

Ok.... I think I will want a 1 bedroom apt as opposed to studio , must have kitchenette & comfortable enough to relax and work. with a comunual pool a gym would be nice too . I am hoping for change from 20k / month any chance.??

Well now the BTS has extended as far as Soi Bearing, you can get plenty of apartments for that price range, look around Bang-Na and Udom Suk.

As for expectant salary and cost of living, well you'll open up a hornets nest on here with people saying you can live on 30,000 a month to others saying they can't scrape by on less than 200,000 whistling.gif
