Thai Police Bust Karaoke Bar in Underage Trafficking Sting
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod The Royal Thai Police executed a significant raid today, February 14, on a karaoke bar in Kamphaeng Phet, uncovering a disturbing case of human trafficking involving minors and LGBTQ youths under 18. This high-profile operation, led by the Department of Provincial Administration's special operations team, aimed to rescue victims and gather evidence against the accused. The raid targeted a venue on Khlong Khlung-Pang Silathong Road in the Pho Thong subdistrict, resulting in the arrest of Thirasit and Narissara, whose last names remain undisclosed. Intelligence reports had linked these owners to trafficking activities, alleging that they forced young women and LGBTQ minors to entertain clients, taking 200-300 baht from their 1,500 baht earnings for illicit services. Kamphaeng Phet Governor Chatip Rujanaseri initiated the operation following a strategy meeting with his team. Undercover agents, posing as customers, orchestrated the bust, using marked banknotes to seal the suspects' fate while successfully rescuing the exploited minors. Officers seized evidence including licenses for cigarettes, alcohol, and the karaoke business, as well as mobile phones from both the culprits and victims. Another ops team also freed minors from a room in Pho Thong, aided by a staged negotiation. Pang Silathong district chief Sané Chaimongkhon confirmed the legitimacy of this raid, resulting in the rescue of four victims now in protective care. Authorities have begun questioning, while the suspects face multiple charges: human trafficking, prostitution, child protection violations, labor law breaches, and operating an unlicensed business. The suspects remain in custody at Pang Silathong police station, awaiting further legal proceedings, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-02-14 -

If you keep the money knowing that it is not yours, that is a (minor) criminal offence in Thailand. Contact your bank or better still, the head office via email and explain it all to them. They can track the source. Does your bank statement show the originating account? -

How to send an Alzheimer's patient back to the U.K.? - From Bangkok
I imagine Heathrow would have a protocol in place. Maybe contact them. Thailand has care homes starting at 25k a month. Wouldn't that be better?
