Misubishi Mr Slim Inverter 14500Btu Problem

I got a new aircon in the bedroom its an inverter unit. I feel its not working good. My previous unit a samsung 12000 btu unit (non inverter) cooled it down quite quick and cool.

Now the inverter unit takes 30 minutes to lower the temperature by 1 Celsius and 2,5 hours to lower it by 4 degrees (from 31 to 27 degrees) I set it for 21 degree. I did see the humidity go down from 74 to 52%

Obviously the unit should be big enough because the previous 12.000 btu unit cooled the room faster and cooler.

We are talking about cooling at night when there is no sun. the room is not that big. 4 meter by 5 meter and 2,5 high

Id like to know other people their thoughts on this, the seller is telling me inverter units cool a room slower. I thought they cooled just as fast but only started to spin slower once they reached the desired temperature.

Daikin inverter units have a power setting at the remote control to max cooling power till the room reaches the set temp and the unit will reset itself to normal cooling.

If your Mitsu has no such setting, make sure the remote is set to cooling (and not dry) mode, and max out the fan speed.

Thanks for the information, i have already done so. Max fan and cooling.

I find it strange that it wont go lower as 27 degrees while i set it for 21 (not that i want the house 21 but i expected it lower for sure) The other unit had no problems at a lower BTU.

Its now 26 degrees in from 31 degree and that in 3 hours. There is nobody in the room and its night. The remote is set for 21 degrees.

The symbol in the remote for cooling mode is a snowflake, while in drying mode is 2 water drops.

If it still takes a long time to cool the room, you need to call in the technician. Could be a leak and loss of coolant fluid.

Thanks for your input and yes i used the snowflake and we ordered a technician for tomorrow. Because its a new unit i just wanted some input so i could make sure i know a little bit more before he checks it tomorrow.

It just cools too slow IMHO and wanted some other people their opinions. You are being helpful, thanks.

Check the air outlet temperature from the unit in close proximity to the unit. Should feel really cool. Sounds like the unit is running in fan only mode instead of A/C in spite of settings. Is the compressor running? ie is there hot air being expelled from the compressor unit? Could be lack of gas or setup problem and sounds like a bad installation. Tech on the way is best way of solving this one by the sounds.

Cheers

The outlet temprature is cold but not as cold as my other units and it starts off warm for a long time. But at night it gets cold (i think its because its just pulling air in and not cooling it and at night the normal air is cooler)

But the tech will check it tomorrow.
