Featured Replies

F1 had in principle agreed to host the race in bkk 2014.

Will they ever finish 1 lap with all jams? :D

Should be do able plenty of expressways and good roads in the city

Hope they race in the dry season. Need to fix the potholes if it's a street race:)

Red Bull has Wings so they should be OK tongue.png

I heard they have been testdriving the circuit early in the morning a couple of weeks ago , There are quite a few threads about in the news forum.

A few months back they were also talking about Chiang Mai

Even had the location picked out.

I would love to watch it, Moto GP even more,

Nice o have dreams

It will be a Street Circuit Night Race... Same as Singapore...

It'll be interesting to see the set up...

Every Singapore's Grand Prix week is a nightmare to local motorists.. It created heavy jams everywhere!

Without Grand Prix, the Bkk traffic is already a nightmare... So if it is going to use the Street for racing, massive work will need to be set up and the traffic flow will be affected... blink.png

Never happen. Too many vested interests. Can you imagine the protests because of noise and inconvenience...

25 fully loaded Jumbo Jets is what goes to every race, cars, parts and everything to do with F1,, nightmare maybe Customs ?

F1 is so boring to watch , and so predictable as well. The one who wins is not the best driver, but the one with the best performing car .

And frankly speaking, this event will undoubtedly be sponsored and very heavily associated with Red Bull here, so for me it's a definitive : No thanks .

Red Bull sponsors Ferraris right?

A nightmare? I'm sure customs will have a field day.

They would only have to pay duty on what the plan to leave here.

If its so predictable why don't you gamble on it? You could make a tidy sum over the year.

Is the Red Bull link to do with the son's court case? If so that is quite ridiculous. Actually, no it's not. I have boycotted films since I found out about Fatty Arbuckle, and women since Myra Hindley, don't get me started on the Germans or the Italians. In fact I haven't spoken to my parents or myself since I found out about the atrocities in India.

Red Bull sponsors their own F-1 chassis with Renault engines, and the Toro Rosso team is their own chassis with Ferrari engines.

An F1 race in Bangkok......I have to see that! cheesy.gif

I believe Singapore is well organized as is Monaco, and it takes them a month to set up for the Race + the week of the Race......... So BKK even heavier jams everywhere for 6 weeks ? There is not only the setting up but the taking down after the event

That's what they're hoping a lot of people will say and maybe a lot will just to see how much folly will take place?

So glad I won't be here to live through it though, I went to an airshow at Don Muang and that was sooooooo poorly organized and downright dangerous, something of this magnitude is destined for a disaster of some sort in my mind, I'll give it a pass thank you..

Several years ago in Schumies time this would be absolutely true, now not so much except that a major factor in the best performing car is just as much the driver so they aren't mutually exclusive and today that is more level then I can recall in my lifetime..

On a given weekend there are numerous drivers and teams that can be stand out and I'm gaining a stronger respect of Fernando Alonso every race as he seems to be thrashing the Ferrari to get everything out of it and leading with a car that's not the best and getting the job done. All respect to Fernando as he's carrying Ferrari on his skills this season for certain and not the other way around..

Well, you havent' been watching ti this year it would seem :)

Sure, the 2011 season was dominated by the RB11, but this year it's pretty much anyone's race - RB, McLaren, Ferrari and Lotus are within 60 points of each other, and Mercedes and Sauber have found form now, and strong contenders for every race IMHO.

This season, it's real and proper racing again, IMHO.
