Best Cheap Smartphone In Bangkok?

Featured Replies

I'm after a cheap (less than 5000 baht) smartphone that I can pick up in Bangkok.

Would like to be able to go online with it mainly for Facebook and emails. Wifi and 3G would be needed I presume?

I guess the main choice if an Android vs a Blackberry.

What are the bottom end (5000 approx. baht) Blackberrys like?

Anyone make a good android phone at that price?

Thanks very much.

Check out a Big C phone counter. They do have lots of androids, in the 5k price range.

Some of 'em are Samsung, some of' em are only looking like Samsung or apple.

Chose the Samsung, me think.

Actually, there was a Nokia very popular, some month ago. Still with Symbian, but 3.5'' (not 100% sure) display, 3G and maybe wifi.

That should be ~5k, by now

if your in BKK get your self down to the I-mobile stand at The Mobile Expo Queen Sirikit Center..Decent Android phones on Gingerbread 2.3 from 2,990b. i695,i697,i698.

A friend might be looking for an affordable 3G mobile phone option that has the ability to "tether" to a WiFi device like a tablet. No other smart phone capability would be needed or wanted. Are those Android phones in thqicbr's post most likely the cheapest option? (Do they tether?)

He's considering getting a TP-Link MiFi device for about B1900, but might consider a 3G tetherable mobile phone if it were not too expensive.

Yes they tether. If that's all he wants then go for the cheapest phone with 2.3 android. When the I-mobile phone comes out I will be selling my Wellcom A90+ for 2000b. I have had it about 7 months or so. Still works great. I just want a larger screen.
