How To Keep Thailand A Fresh Adventure...

Featured Replies

So this will be my 5th trip to Thailand, and this time I am thinking of trying to stay over there and start a life.

The thing is, how can I keep this whole thing fresh for me ?

How to fight off this life becoming as routine and predictable as the one you left ?

i think you are the only one who can answer this,

im very lucky as i still go to work, so i get a break, but to be honest what i do in thailand is what i allways wanted to do in england and that was to have a small holding,

yes i get up at 6am and take care of the pigs and other animals and then there is allways other jobs to do,

but i look at my life and think to myself it cant get better then this,

i live in thailand with a beautiful caring wife, have beautiful children, doing what i allways wanted to do,

and i think im very very lucky, i miss it like hell when im away working,

then when im home i do sometimes miss having the craic with the boys,

i you will have to find something you want to do,

you have allready done the hard part by saying you want to live here,

now just find things to take up your time,

same as at home really, golf, fishing what ever you decide, but your doing it all in a beautiful country,

never mind what the nah sayers say,, you can be happy living here,

just how i see it of course,,

You'll never be bored and you wont be able to predict what you read.

They say "Life is too short" isn't it actually the longest thing we'll ever do ? just enjoy the ride.

Neil Diamond said it best in " Hell Yeah "

I've been livin' in a bowl

With a lot of people starin'

With my feet on shaky ground

And my head up in the sky

But it’s where I wanna be

It’s a life that’s made for carin'

Got a song to pass the day

And a girl to share the night

So if they ask you when I'm gone

Was it everything he wanted?

When he had to travel on

Did he know he'd be missed?

You can tell them this

Hell yeah he did

He saw it all

He walked the line

Never had to crawl

He cried a bit

But not for long

Hell yeah he found the life that he was after

Filled it up with love and laughter

Finally got it right and made it fit

Hell yeah he did

+++++++++++

It's up to you to make it worthwhile, nobody is going to do it for you.

You hit some nice points...

I spend to much time on the computer.. lol..

The thing is I love Thailand, i think, but maybe I need to check out some new places...

what is a good place, kind of remote, but lots of action.. somewhere cheap and pretty... I have always thought chiang mai but maybe i should consider somewhere else

For anyone to say "how to keep it fresh" they obviously have never lived here for any length of time.

This beautiful country is sooooo varied, and so full of different aspects at every turn in the road, nothing is consistent and I mean that in a nice way, although sometimes that can cause frustrations too but that's all part of the rich tapestry that Thailand is.

Come, stay awhile, find your own level, your own niche and just relax ! there is a lot more than just the bars and girls of walking street, whether that be Bangkok Pattaya or Phuket. Thailand is so much more than the tourist <deleted> for those that want to look beyond the bottom of a glass.

If you want to keep things fresh, stay away from all of the negative expat ass**les you generally find in the tourist bars.

Secondly, don't get into to much of a routine. Travel, meet new people, think positively and be grateful that you are not stuck in a cubicle in some bank or such.

Come visit beautiful Chiang Mai and our helpful team at Absolute Asia Travel on Facebook, will be happy to help you make some wonderful Tours around the beautiful sights of Chiang Mai.
