Accommodation Recommendation Please

Featured Replies

Firstly hello. I have been having a look around the forum and have found some great info so thanks guys.

I'll be in Chaing Rai and Chiang Mai for 4 nights each in Feb.

I am trying to decide where to stay in Chiang Rai. I don't like staying right in the nightlife area but within walking distance.

One must-have is a balcony, I hate staying in an enclosed space while on holiday. A pool would be nice but not necessary.

Otherwise clean, reasonably modern and in the price range 1000-1500b a night.

2 that look ok are "Nice Inn Town Residence" -Agoda and "Chiang Rai Central City Location Condo" -Tripadvisor (i cant post links here)

Which of these would you recommend or any better suggestions?

Also i like watching live music, preferably rock/blues. Even Thai rock music is fun, i went to Luk Nam pub in Hua Hin recently and loved it.

Any live music venues anyone can recommend?

Thanks,

Sydman.

Wiang Inn Hotel, Closest to downtown and nite market area

Rimkok Resort Hotel North of the city and across the river, but not too far for a taxi

Laluna Hotel & Resort Close to old airport about 2 kilo's from downtown

Diamond Park Inn Chiang Rai Resort (do not confuse with Diamond Park Inn) Very nice, close and has a nice pool and balconies. I highly recommend this one for value for money. Close in to Central City.

Dusit Island Resort..... Very Nice not far out, but a bit more expensive

Pimanninn Hotel

652/1 moo 24 , Tambol Robwiang , Muang District , Chiangrai 57000 Thailand.

We have a local metered taxi service avail 24 hours a day by telephone, so convenient now to get around Chiang Rai.

For Live Music the Sixties Bar has a nice couple of House Bands that play both Thai and Western Rock Music. They offer Drinks and have Thai Food. Very Nice Bands there.

There is also a Venue near the Old Little Duck Hotel and the Central Shopping Plaza on our main frontage road that has live Thai Rock Music and food and drink. Has a Old Wagon Wheels and Old West Style Building. Can't remember name. Play a lot of Copy Thai Singer Carabow Music and lots of other music styles.

Also Live Music at the Par Club... Is a Huge Thai Nightclub with Live Thai style hip hop and modern music from the west. Alcohol and some small snacks avail there.

Enjoy your trip

Thanks for the reply Kimomax.

I think i'll book the Diamond Park Inn Chiang Rai Resort. Location is great and the price is 1270b on Agoda.

Thanks for the music info also, it should keep me busy for a few nights.
