Some Changes To The Chiang Rai Forum

Hi all,

A decision has been made to lock all the existing photography threads on the CR forum.

To be completely transparent on this, there were several factors behind this decision.

We thank ALL the members who posted here over time, many many excellent photos.

However, the topic "Images of Chiang Rai" (now titled "Images of Chiang Rai 2005-2012") that is pinned at the top of the CR forum, is really the place to post photos.

Also on Thai Visa see the "Photography and the Arts" forum for technical expertise and advice, and "Thailand and Siam history photos" for an archive of historical photos:

If anyone has any questions on this, you are more than welcome to PM me. On a more philosophical note, and I will try to keep it brief. We are all aware that there has been a lot of strife and contention on the CR forum. When it started, and who said what to whom, really doesn't matter at this point. I am asking all to TRY to wipe the slate clean, and start all over again.

Simply try to post on the forum, as you would converse with someone you meet on the street. You might not like the person you meet on the street, but a simple curt nod or a forced smile usually works. Try to treat each person with some measure of dignity and respect publically, as you would wish to be treated yourself. That is all I have to say on this, and please know that my comments are not directed to one faction or camp or tribal group- it is meant for all. There are a lot of good people on CR; I have met some of you over the years and I value those encounters. All the best, and I remain
