Problems Staying Connected To True

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just looking for a bit of computer/ADSL advise.

I have just had True Hi Speed Internet installed at my apartment I have opted for the cheapest option 590 Bart per month. I am having problems staying connected I am able to log on and get on the web for about 10 to 20 minutes and then the connection ends. The 678 error messages appears and the ADSL light stops blinking. I have found I can usually reconnect about 10 minutes later. Do you think this is a problem with True or my computer ? My apartment is in Bangna could it be because the coverage is not so good because I am on the outskirts of Bangkok ?

Any advise would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Laurence

Could be a noisy phone line. Might be worth having a look at the cables etc - often extensions will have been 'home made' or you may find them hanging out in the weather. Mine goes from the first to second floor via the stormwater drain (sigh).

Also - do you have a splitter box - little plastic thing that separates the phone and ADSL signals (if you haven't got it then the phone may intefere with the ADSL). Cost about 200 baht.

I managed to fix the problem by buying a new modem a Linksys. The one True hands out is rubbish. They also came to the apartment and checked the line before and it was fine.
