Blackout in Koh Kaew on November 20

Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: -- The Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority (PPEA) has announced a scheduled blackout that will affect areas in Koh Kaew, north of Phuket Town, on Tuesday, November 20.

The blackout will be from 9am to 5pm to allow PPEA staff to carry out maintenance work on high-voltage power lines.

The blackout will affect Soi Harn Farang and Soi Koh Kaew 33, and may affect adjoining areas that are supplied electricity from power cables along these two streets.

The PPEA apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the power cuts.

For more information, please call the PPEA Phuket office’s Operations and Maintenance Department at 076-211663.

You guys in Phuket are lucky.

A month or so ago we had a blackout and after 45 minutes or so I went outside to talk to the neighbours to see if it was our house or the whole neighbourhood. They all had blackouts too.

We called the electricity board only to be informed that they had driven around the area, a few days ago, in a van with speakers announcing the upcoming blackout.

Spent the whole day without having a decent shower and couldn't flush the toilets (electric water pump didn't work).
