Extracting Bus Routes From Latitude App

Featured Replies

The Latitude app creates/recommends routes to take, and then displays the routes on the map screen.

This is astonishing since the bus guide maps to buy at the bookshops etc only show the central bangkok routes... This app can show a route from off-the-beaten-track area to another suburban area.

There seems to be no way to just display a bus route. You must put, in a start and end point.

Any suggestions to work out the routes....? The source for Latitude gives none of the info Latitude must possess. So where is it really extracting this unique information.

With Google Maps one can get directions using a car, walking or public transport incl SRT, MRT, BTS, ARL, BMTA (bus). A data connection would be required for any re-routing.Samples for Suvarnabhumi Bangkok International Airport to Siam Paragon.

The Bangkok Guide paper bus map shows routes out to/beyond the ring roads.

You can drill down on the bus number, a bit, gives you the direction.

It sounds like Google worked with the various transport agencies to integrate the maps, routes, schedules?

Very cool, thanks for prompting this discussion, should be useful for many.

Streetview (aka "Pegman") is cool as well.

Like Lamatopo, I suspect that Google gets the information from the transport agencies. Much of this is probably available on the web, but only in Thai language.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
