Huay Yai:-- South of Pattaya: Kindergarten Teacher arrested for selling drugs to schoolchildren

Local Police were called in by Sattahip School superintendents after Parents reported a Kindergarten teacher as selling Methamphetamine Drugs to school pupils.

Instead of protecting the children from the less than pleasant influences around the area, she was actually selling the tablets, at a pathetic 10 baht mark up (according to her statement) , to the village children during their playtime and lunch periods. Nabbed in the classroom where she taught, the woman was pictured with her wares, along with the cash used to purchase from her by the decoy buyers, sent in to prove the case beyond doubt ( see photographs below)

Waleeporn Aimoc, is the 34 year old teacher who is charged with dealing in drugs during school hours after officers used decoy buyers to purchase from her with marked bank notes. She had been in charge of the day to day care of children as young as 3 years old in the school and claimed that she had indeed been dealing, but only as a result of her poor salary which, she claims, is not enough for her to live on.

The School, in Huay Yai, notified education officials and local police after they received complaints but there was still considerable doubt as to her guilt as teachers and teaching assistants are held in very high regard in Thailand.

The shortened extract quoted above gives the impression that she was dealing to 3 year olds, which seems unlikely to say the least.

The full article puts a different slant on it: "Prior to her arrest, Police had already taken several teenagers into custody for use or possession of the controlled substance and each had named her as their supplier."

Still a bit daft though.

Only in Huay Yai would local education and police officials have doubts. A right pit of vipers out there on the 'dark side'.
