December 1, 201213 yr Yes, a shooting happened in Haad Rin and a young man from Cactus Bar (I don't know if a DJ) was killed. A tourist was wounded too. I have no other news (I am in Samui)
December 1, 201213 yr Yes, his name was Bao, he wasn't a DJ but a fire performer and controlled the microphone at the beach parties. He was a great guy and I have known him for more than 3 years, since I first went to Thailand. It is a great loss for those of us who consider the Cactus bar team our family.

December 2, 201213 yr I am afraid I do not know the fine details. It was around 2am on Friday 30th (Thai Time) at the back of the bar by the DJ booth. As far as I am aware the shooter was well known among my other friends there and has now fled with his brother
January 3, 201313 yr Where do you people live? Sadly in Thailand shooting is a daily occurrence, frequently with tragic consequences. In KPG or in Chiang Mai, Phuket or Roi-Et, shooting and killing is part of the local 'culture' and, IMHO, is increasing too (or only more news reported on the media)

Guns, drugs, flashy cars/phones/iPads/everything.... Too much too soon, for a society built on face.
