Asian Vs Western Spec Clubs

Featured Replies

Just wanted to share a recent experience for whatever its worth to others. Last month I broke my Ping driver while in TL. The cheapest replacement option was to purchase the new Taylormade RBZ Bonded driver in R flex from Golf Challenge. It was the easiest to hit, consistent and long driver I've ever used. I was stoked. Left it with my TL set when we returned west.

Expecting the same performance, upon my return to California, I picked up another one for my set here in America. Boy was I disappointed. Didn't perform anything like the one I bought in TL. After some research, found out the western spec shaft is slightly heavier, has a lower torque and is much stiffer. Even the senior flex is stiffer than the TL R flex.

With the TL model, the ball lept off the face and 95% went dead straight. Needless to say, I'll be bringing an Asian spec RBZ back with me next time. If anyone's interested in a mint condition 10.5 Razr Fit with R flex, drop me a note. Cheers.
