Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Epson's L100 and L200 tank printers? Need a new printer and am attempting on giving up on Canon printers.

Thanks....

I recently had a look at the Epson L100 / L200 / , and the shop said that I could not use any thing but the original Epson re fill ink bottles ( 270 Baht a colour ) if I did it would void the warranty , no doubt some one in the future will come up with a work around if required . They looked well made and I have not as yet seen too many negative comments about these printers , personally I was looking for an all in one printer/scanner version.

I was quoted

L100 - 4,590 Baht

L200 - 5,590 Baht

L350 - 6,290 Baht ( all in one )

The only info I can give on Epson printer is I bought one in the UK in 2003, the the then brand new C84......... took it out of the box here and used it until the ink ran out, the new model here was the C43, C63 and C83 but the ink here would not work on my C84......... put back in the Box and put into one of the spare bedrooms and bought a Canon....

2 years ago decided to have ink tanks fitted, got out the C84 and took that along as well.......... Pantip 2 they looked and the Canon and said it was old needed a new head + showed me the metal bits inside were covered in rust, went back to the car and got the Epson they looked and said was as new + no problem, so for past 2 years have been using the C84 with ink tanks never a problem

I have an HP inkjet 110 All in One printer/scan/copy. I went to IT plaza and I was told by two of the shops that it could be converted to a tank printer. Has anyone had a conventional ink jet printer converted to a tank type? I understand this would void the warranty.

Epson L100 doesn't have scanner, so you can't use it as photocopy machine. However I saw 3690 baht at powerbuy, which is a pretty good price for this printer. I bought my L200 from Fortune Mall for 4990 baht a few months ago.

Original ink is 250 baht and it is 70 ml geniune ink. It is protected by a serial number, but again you can't buy 70-100 ml ink much cheaper than this price, so it is actually cheap for Epson ink.

When you refill ink and enter serial numbers from your computer, it takes about 20 minutes to prepare, which was shocking! Another problem is printing speed is way too slow compared to other printers. It does print fast if you choose draft quality, but under normal circumstances, it is slow.

However, I would choose Epson L200 over any other aftermarket CISS ink system modded printer because of ink quality, warranty and its elegant look.

No problem if the warranty is already expired?

If you buy a new modified one you get a shop warranty instead of the manufacturer's warranty.

We were looking at the L200 but no WiFi connectivity. The Canon we settled for has separate Canon ink tanks and connects to our desktop, 2 laptops and our smartphones. No brainer
