We need to find a place in the general Chiang Mai area to store our auto and about 10 cubic meters of personal effects from 1 March to September. We are looking for some place secure with minimal flooding of potential.

We looked at a moving and storage place, but the price was so high that they thought that renting a house would be cheaper for us. We also looked at a high rise studio apartment for 5,500 per month that will probably work, but we were hoping to get something less expensive, maybe further from the CM center.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Look around for an unoccupied single storey shophouse away from the main shopping areas.

They’re generally 3 meters wide and go back 10 to 15 meters or so. You should be able to drive the car in as well as store your goods.

Ask the others in the row of shophouses and they will put you in contact with the owner.

The owner may be prepared to rent it to you for a couple of thousand a month for the period you want it for.

I think renting the apt for storage is your best bet for safety, all the way around
