Will Thailand see this car ? or just the same old Camry, Accord Teana again and again

Third-gen '6' is 50 per cent better than second-gen model

Mazda has dropped the five-door liftback from its third-generation Mazda6 range, but remains confident that the 35 per cent of buyers who previously bought the hatch will accept either of the sleekly styled alternatives – sedan or wagon.

This latest model of Mazda's well-regarded mid-size family car has grown large (see PACKAGING below), but it is also leaner in its fuel consumption, which also makes it kinder to the environment. At 6.6L/100km for the petrol model and 5.4L/100km for the diesel, the SKYACTIV principles employed have bestowed on the new '6' class-leading fuel efficiency.

The previous model Mazda6 was not the success the first generation car was. This third-generation Mazda6 should turn back history, the importer hopes. Following a surge from launch, the new Mazda6 is forecast to average 750 sales a month during the first year – an increase of roughly 200 units a month. Of those, 35 per cent will be wagons, 65 per cent sedans, and, split along similar lines, 35 per cent will be diesels and 65 per cent will be petrol.

To answer the question in the topic title: No.

A better question would be: "Will Mazda ever release the 6 in Thailand?" - to which the answer is: "extremely unlikely" smile.png

What is the source of the article please?

Received a reply by PM, the answer to my question is www.carsales.com. Thanks for that.

IMO, if quoting an article, also quote the source, so we can see the relevance to the local situation.

An unfortunate answer to a better question. We could really use some more interesting attractive alternatives to the Camry Teana and Accord.

The Mazda 2 and 3 seem to do well in Thailand, it's unfortunate Mazda are not offering the Mazda 6 and CX5 (yet).

Mazda TH are taking a very cautious approach to everything it seems. The CX-5 has been in production in Malaysia since Q1 this year, but even as late as last month, Mazda TH bosses were pretty much saying words to the effect of "Middle of next year, maybe later, maybe not" - it really came across as if they haven't yet created an action plan for it's launch / are adopting a "wait and see" attitude for some reason..

The 6 isn't currently manufactured in ASEAN at all, and there's no suggestions that's going to change, so off the cards for TH.

Maybe looks to good ? this is Thailand = full of dull drab look-a-like cars......

Back in about August the Mazda 6 [on a Thai website] was due by end of year, not many days left if it was this year ? and price back then was starting @ 920.000 baht....... if only all that was true, guess wait and see

Same can be said for the CX5, maybe just to good looking, Other option just have to make do with that hideous new version of what they call a CRV

Can you have prizes for ugliest car of the year ?

When I saw the Mazda 6 1st Gen announced I was on the phone with Mazda Thailand to see if it would be available here. Disappointed when they said no.
