sporty + turbo charged + new, no.

Turbo charged only - yes, for up to 1M you can get a Proton Exora Turbo (MPV), a pickup truck, or a base model diesel PPV - none are sporty though.

Sporty only - hrmm.. depends what you call 'sporty', heh. Some might call a modified Jazz, Yaris, or Fieta 'sporty' ;)

The cheapest new+sporty+turbo car that springs to mind is the Skoda Fabia RS @ 1.6M

At ~1M, your best bet will be buying used...

well, if the definition could be slightly bended there are:

1) Peugeot 408 turbo, a bit over 1m and not 'that' small....

2) Proton Preve: sedan style, 750,000 Baht top model with a 1.6 turbo (if i remember correctly). Not exactly that fast, nor that small....and not the Best 'resale', but an option nonetheless.

3) Citroen DS3, there are a couple of very little used ones in one2car.com, manual only (as the auto engine did not get the turbo charged version). Small, definitely fun and pretty fast....I reckon with a bit of bargaining you can get one of those 2nd hand with less than 10,000 km for around 1.2m.

Been wondering if the Proton Preve engine is biased on the same 'campro' engine as in the Neo, and if so how easy to convert. A 1.6 Turbo in the small light not bad looking Neo body would be pretty fun IMO despite the low end brand.

Neat looking engine swap from the pics...do you know how easy it is to get this kind of work done to a good standard in and around BKK, and what the costs are? I know swaps are popular in Thailand, like the idea but worried about stuff like custom parts like engine mounts cracking etc.

The idea of a Preve turbo - Neo swap if the 'Campro' engine block is the same would be standard manufactures parts, and same manufacture throughout so any Proton service centre could maintain it?

Not sure about that particular engine, but I was told about 100-120K for turbo charging a stock honda civic 1.8, good for over 200WHP. That's on stock internals and light boost, using good quality parts. That was by VSR performance; you can look them up on facebook. They do a lot of petrol turbos. You can mail them they write in english well. n engine swap would be a more expensive proposition - a type r k20 could run to 300K baht into a civic (or jazz:). There's a jazz with a type r swap here; it flies. Not sure who would even service a proton with an evo engine:) You would be going to specialist garages for that kind of work I'd imagine.
