i am planning my move to chaing mai now, and was wondering if i buy a laptop here will it work over there? plugging it in and stuff. or should i wait till i get there? will i get one cheaper there?

thankyou. :o

That all depends where 'here' is :o

I would buy one in LOS.

1, It will have Thai and English keyboard, may come in handy

2, Power plug will fit, you'd have to get a adapter for a UK laptop

3, Probably cheaper in LOS

Thats what I'd do :o

ha ha sorry forgot to say i live in the uk

You may buy your laptop in Bangkok, if you stay in Thailand for a year it will be better as you will have warranty for your computer. Most laptops purchased in UK I guess do not have worldwide warranty.

In Bangkok you may check laptops in Panthip Plaza and you can check the prices online at:

http://www.pantip.com/tech/market/?url=price/

I've just checked the price of my laptop bought in the UK against the panthip price and they're about the same. You're probably better buying in Chiang Mai as you'll have less grief if anything goes wrong.
