SeaVisionBurma
Is it the episode with this airport in it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoreham_Airport Poirot series 1, episode 8. I would probably not admit to being a Poirot fan normally (on a public forum) - but I do enjoy the series immensely. Suchet makes a brilliant Poirot. Chao Lao Beach
Is it the episode with this airport in it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoreham_Airport That is correct. Beats me Transam, if it is not that it is not the plane they are pretending it is, must be back to Mrs Vanadlines "magic" trick to get the plans. Chao Lao Beach
David, can not tell that livery above. Is it at BKK or in Oz? For the military guys here, this appears to be a re-engined 707 (or what ever you call the military tanker). How did this configuration go compared to the gas guzzling original burners? What is the external yellow pipe for? (or is it just paint, I don't know actually by the way?
RabC
# 054 AirlineMake and ModelLR DSCF7735C.jpg Up close shot, hopefully no controversy here either! . Looks like a A340 and the livery looks like SAS but they have now/or shortly will stop flying from Swampy.
GrantSmith
CLB - that's a KC-135 strato tanker ( also noted in the file name ) aka a militarised 707, as for the donk issue, I've got no idea... RabC seems on the money with an SK A340...

Radar501
Below photo is Jetstar's first B787-800, on the production line at Boeing's Everett factory. Full story here: http://australianaviation.com.au/2013/06/first-jetstar-787-in-final-assembly/ Hope the link works OK. No doubt the late September delivery slot will be perfect timing for a promo MCG fly-over at the AFL Grand Final. The new 787's will be used on Australian domestic routes for a while, and then transferred to International. MEL/BKK the maiden route?? Funny how they call it a glass cockpit. There are no windows!! David48
^^ Thanks for that ... link working fine. A piece of trivia from that link. Apparently "When VH-VKA is added to the Australian Civil Register it will be the first time that all Boeing commercial types (707,717,727,737,747,757,767,777 & 787) have appeared on the Australian register." ... apparently ... . GrantSmith
Don't think it will do a flyover of the G for the Grand Final... You're likely to see a QF & EK A380 formation flyover... A JQ 787 flyover would somewhat cheapen the event...

SeaVisionBurma
Stumbled across an interesting article... You could probably spend hours plane spotting in a graveyard like this. I am not even going to start - too hard. SeaVisionBurma
Yes, the mind certainly boggles. The sheer scale of these places are amazing - this is just one of these so called aircraft graveyards...

SeaVisionBurma
Suppose it also beggars the question ... what does the Military do with their Aircraft that are not on sold? . Military aircraft also go to the same places. There are quite a few in that photo above. I guess they are stripped of anything worthwhile or sensitive once there. David48
Speaking of where planes go to rest ... German Dornier bomber raised from English Channel BBC A German World War II bomber has been raised from the bottom of the English Channel. The Dornier Do-17 aircraft was shot down off the Kent coast more than 70 years ago during the Battle of Britain. Believed to be the only intact example of its kind in the world, it has lain in 50ft (15m) of water on the Goodwin Sands. Attempts by the RAF Museum to salvage the relic had been hit by strong winds over the last few weeks. David48
I did find it ... but only by using Google. So maybe, someone who knows or remembers it from memory deserves to answer the Spot. BTW, the Pilot is reported to have died in a brave act to try and steer the aircraft away from the Audience. .
GrantSmith
That appears to be a rusky Sukhoi Su-27... Hard to tell the exact model as the nose / cockpit isn't easily identifiable in this meme But the colour scheme is definitely rusky airforce...
