My assumption and hope is that the bridge is being rebuilt,it has been closed (though still used) since being damaged in the floods.

hes right but im not sure they are going to rebuild it ? : (

pic 1 .. 22 oct 11 the first leg on the market side moved downstream a little bit and put a kink in the bridge and it also sank down a little

pic 2 .. 15 jan 12 .. you can see the slope

pic 3 .. 2 nov 12 ..they started the demolition

pic 4 .. 5 .. 15 nov .. the railings have gone

pic 6 .. 7 dec .. the steps on the other side have gone

pic 7 .. 18 dec .. they started the road over

The bridge will be rebuilt, there was consultation with local residents over the design and location of the bridge and inevitably that took time, now that work has started things should move along fairly, ahem, rapidly!

yea, I saw the sign telling of the costs. I think the original bridge was funded by a private donation. I always enjoyed crossing that bridge to Wat Ket.
