I've never had to find snails... after a couple of weeks, if you have plants in your pond, snails always seem to magically appear.

Failing that, you could always ask a neighbour.

Look under the leaves of aquatic plants for sale. Snail eggs are in clear gel globs stuck to the leaf. Something like this pic below but more clear gel than tiny white spots. If you can't see them feel for them. The gel pack is like a slick knob. (jokes if you have them gentlemen)

Have a look around some of the neighbours houses... specifically those who have lotus flowers growing in water in ceramic containers.

Most will have snails in them, and I'm sure that if you ask nicely, you'd be given some.

I was hoping to find a supplier and recipe but you mean aquatic ones....

My pond has literally 1000s but they don't seem to do much to my algae. also there are some horrible diseases transmitted through snails who act as hosts for skin penetrating larvae that get into the human bloodstream and cause anything from blindness to elephantitis

Barry, you can buy fresh water snails in the market. Most people buy them to eat them but if you get them reasonable fresh they'll do just fine in your pond!

Bruno's have some as well, very delicious but a little pricey :o
