English Bar In Nongbualamphu?

Anyone aware of an English or Irish bar in Nongbua? I found a German bar opposite the new Tesco superstore. The bar was very cheap, 40 baht for a bottle of Chang but everyone was speaking German as you may expect and it was very cliquey (everyone in the bar sitting around one large table) so difficult to start a conversation anyway.

Therefore I was wondering if there are any English or Irish bars, maybe?

Btw, the new Lotus is a godsend. Made the mistake of going in on the first day and it was heaving with people and traffic.

Got your PM today. Call when you have a chance.

I don't know of any western bar in NBL. There used to be one across from the banks on highway 210 but it closed down a couple of years ago.

I have asked some residents and have received no good news.

Cheers

I have not been in Nongbua for six months and wasn't aware of one being built, where abouts is it?.

Oh and I don't know of any English or Irish bars, I am a bit useless really :(

Haven't been to the new Lotus yet either but my wife tells me it is on highway 210 between the TOT bypass intersection and the central road to downtown intersection.

As of now, August 2013, the only real falang bar or ANY real bar for that matter in NBL is "Sanook Bar" which as was mentioned previously, is a German owned place across from Lotus. The owner makes very nice food and there is a buffet every sunday. And yes, I would suppose it would be somewhat cliquey, Nongbua is a small town and most of the people who patronize the bar are "regulars" (by that I mean sitting there all day every day..... but the owner is very nice and as I said, don't hesitate ordering food, its pretty good..

With the Tesco Lotus opening up, this town is certainly starting down the long road to developing infrastructure, more hotels, restaurants etc. I don't doubt that there will be a cropping up of more western bars/restaurants in the coming years
