Fixed it for you Ron. Did you forget to use the Image icon to insert the image?

Thanks for fixing that for me.I normally upload to Picasa and do any post editing there,I then upload to Google+ and then

copy and post to thaivisa. That method works fine normally but today it's gone haywire.Internet explorer has disappeared off the

face of the earth but the ie icon remained in the task bar and when I click on that,Google search comes up instead and in Bulgarian language and there seems to be some association with a programme " HAO 123 " Which is hiding somewhere in the computer.

I am working my way through things with the next thing being a thorough scan.By the way it is only on one computer with Google

Chrome being the search engine on both machines.Unfortunatly most of my images are on the one that has the problem.

@Pigeonjake, thanks for your flowers and chickes. The last chicken in the basket is very funny. I'm still out of likes.

@Ron, sounds to me like you need a personal assistent.smile.png

Back to the chickens.

These are the 3 of 6 who would finally be eaten by the farm dog. Instead of eating them all at once he eats them one by one.

Question: Does anyone know if it's easy to sell Rhode Island Reds (RIR) or White Leghorns chicks nowadays in Thailand? Do you know people who are interested?

Thanks.

for farming Orchids.

@ RBH Great to see the Google maps photos mate and what you have achieved over the years through hard work and

perseverance !!!

A few photos here of a family we visited whilst they were busy preparing their harvested rubber sap into the setting trays.

Mother setting out the metal setting trays whilst her Son unloaded the days rubber harvest from his motorbike.

P1070579-001.JPG

The next step was to add a jug of water to each tray followed by two jugs of rubber sap (I would each jug held 1.5 litre)

post-126208-0-24691600-1404036197_thumb. post-126208-0-25459600-1404036203_thumb. post-126208-0-32623200-1404036208_thumb.

Mother then mixed the water and rubber sap solution for a couple of minutes and removed any air bubbles that had

floated to the surface. The bubbles are removed anytime to avoid any air pockets being in the final solid block of rubber.

Once half of the trays had been mixed and skimmed the Mother then started to add the Formic acid ( a hardener) to the

first trays whilst her Son continued the first step of mixing the water and rubber solution on the other side of the room.

A repeat of the first mixing step was repeated with the added Formic acid and re- skimmed of any bubbles for a final time.

Unfortunately the hardening process takes a couple of hours to work and we weren't able to see the final stage in the

production.Maybe we will go back for another visit to the farm in the future to watch how they turn the slabs into

rubber sheets.None the less it was nice to see how a family works together as a team and it was also very educational

to see their operation from start to almost finish.

All done, just time needed for the hardening to take place.

Well I'm the thicko here. so if there's some time for you to do some instruction on Thai botany, then I'm all eyes :D

^^ excellent reportage there shaggy, brings it too life, makes one appreciate the hard work that goes into the things we all take for granted. Btw, why add water to the sap? Does this enable the removal of air, or is it a perquisite for the formic acid catalysed polymerisation?

@ scunner Me ole' Son,I could bullshit You by Googling 'why water is added to the sap' and then post it here and sound all

knowledgeable, but the simple truth is I don't know.......but when I do, I will let you know.

Btw,I appreciate your positive feedback and comments.

@ farmerjo Man that is some back garden you have got there!!! Thanks for the photos thumbsup.gif

@ David Think I will leave the thread making to the pro's like You and DAL,but thanks for the kind comments and suggestion.

@ Ron Another first there, never had a crop of Egg fruit on this thread as far as I can remember thumbsup.gif

Mate, I really liked those 2 photos, superbly captured ... but also the subject matter.

You can see the care that gone into building it with low cost materials.

Plus, in it's quirky way, it's visually appealing ... well, it is to me anyway.

Ron, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to track down these Huts ... laugh.png

BTW ... nice photo.
