Where To Get Electronic Parts?

Featured Replies

Can somebody direct me to a shop that sells electronic parts? Something like Radio Shack in the US? I have a great set of Monster earbuds that have a broken wire and I really want to revive them with a new miniplug. I just walked pantip looking for the plug and/or somebody to do it but was told that the wires are too small to repair.

Well I'm pretty sure I can do it myself with a borrowed soldering iron.

So, any suggestions? Actually, if I found the right person I think I'd like to just replace the entire cord with something a bit more durable since these things get banged around quite a bit.

Thanks!

Amorn has a few places around town - the big one on the North side of the moat has a service center. For sure the shop has the mini-plugs. The service center (around the corner from the main shop) might be able to do the soldering too.

There is Amorn, Kitty on Chang Phueak, and the shop at the Y intersection behind Wat Phra Singh called the Ham Shop. There are also about 3-4 electronic shops in the vicinity of Kasem Store off Chang Moi. Take your pick.

Thanks for the replies. I'll try Amorn today.

For me, don't know the shop name, but corner Charoen Mueang and Bamrung Rat Road - 1st stoplight east of Narawat Bridge - southeast corner, bright led lights and tv dishes on display outside.

Behind the sales counter, a wall of bins containing resistors, capacitors, etc. - like Radio Shack!

To me, Amorn has almost nothing in this regard.

Thanks for the replies. I went to Amorn and they didn't have what I wanted. In the end I found a little place in Airport plaza on the 3rd floor at the Aquarium end called Eartips and they replaced my mini-plug for 250 baht. More than I planned to spend if I did it myself but worth it to revive a pair of great earbuds.

Poly Electronics:

I just found this place. It seems to have even more electronics than Kitty or Ham...

I forgot about that place. Yes they have a lot of stuff. But a lot of it is lower-grade stuff from China. But there is a lot of useable stuff there.

Old thread, but good I found it. Thumbs up for Kitty, they helped me 2 times and it was quite cheap. Bit difficult to park, but for 5 mins it's ok with the hazard lights I think...Thai style smile.png. Went to Poly first but they have limited stuff and are overpriced.
