Chiang Rai To--Mukdahan(Nok Air)

I was told that I would not get anymore 15 day visa exemptions in Mae Sai,

like a lot of people lately.I also can't get anymore in Vientiane so I have opted to go to

Savannakhet ,Laos.

I have booked a ticket with Nok Air,leaving !0.15 in the morning. The last time I booked a flight with Nok

air.It never left,it was cancelled.

Any body know if these flights are reliable these days.

Also what would have been my options if i went by land.I paid 9300bht return and had to go through Bangkok. There must be other places I could go for a visa run with that money.

Ya know.

A return bus trip to Mukdahan will be a lot less cost than an air flight but you should plan on spending a lot of time on the bus.

If you go through Udon Thani that's 13 hours from Chiang Rai alone.

wow, thirteen hours plus maybe another five to mukdahan plus maybe 2 hours hanging around

stations and back again.

40 hours,at least, on the road or a few hours on a plane for an extra 7000bht.

I wonder if there are other places i can fly to from chiang Mai for around 9200bht return.

I have made the trip from Chiang Mai to Mukdahan twice, both ways by bus. It is am epic journey, but it is doable. I haven't done it from Chiang Rai, but I think the distance might be slightly less. But I have to admit I did not know there was an airport at Mukdahan. I would be seriously tempted to do the flight instead.

nok air do a flight from bangkok to nakon something and then drive you from the airport

to the border, fly and drive i think they call it.

i,m looking up chiang mai to kenming for my next visa run.

Fly down and get the bus back?

There's no hurry on the return trip.

Take a couple of breaks in budget guesthouses, you'll be so tired you won't even notice the bedbugs. thumbsup.gif

Air asia, that's opened up a lot of things to try,

It looks like they might get me Chiang Rai-Bangkok-Isan

'' '' " " " " " Penang

yangoon

Phonm Phen

for around the same price.

I've been doing 15 day trips to mae sai for years but that game might be up.

if i have to spend 9000 on a flight every 6 months it looks like i'll have a nice time spending it.

every cloud has a silver lining.

Air Asia Chiangmai to Hat Yai for month of March is 4710 baht return. On arrival in Hat Yai go to the Tour/ Bus counter and book a mini van to Penang and its about 1000 baht return. Do your visa in Penang????!!!!

o.k

I must look up the visa forum, but i thought penang didn't do double entry touriet visas,

which is what i need

I think you are right in regards to no double entry tourist visa.

Why can't you get va isa from Vientiane, and what makes you think you could get one from KL or Penang. Savannaketh is the best place to get double entry at the moment I believe. Most of the other embassys dont even give a single entry if you have a dirty passport.

The last time i went to Vientiane I got a red stamp saying 'no more tourist visas from Vientiane'

That's why I'm going to Savanakhet this time.

I'm not sure who's giving double entry's these days I must look it up.

I thought Cambodia, kenmiing,Yangoon,Delhi,Kathmandu and the like still do.
