Notwithstanding the information presently available on Thaivisa, could somebody please direct me to a scientific document (with authors) that proves HIV causes AIDS. I haven't been able to find such a document although I have searched extensively.

The short version, as far as I know, is that you cannot get AIDS without getting HIV first, and you can get HIV and an effective treatment for it and never develop AIDS. Scientific evidence can be found in some of the 28 links given by another member in his post.
