Speaking to my wife tonight she informed me that there was a young man (boy) killed a week ago in Prasat near the Stafford's restaurant. Anyone know anything about what happened?

My wife just told me about it tonight although is happened last Friday (a week ago) and she just found out... I lost Gray's email address or I would ask him myself... our place is a 'stone's throw' from his restaurant...

I would start by asking anyone who lives a stones throw away - they are bound to know................

My wife has but I would rather hear from farangs to perhaps understand more... you know what I mean?

Unfortunetly death doesn't have quite the impact here in Thailand dingdongrb. To me it seems quite an UN emotional affair and it is kept quiet. Kids/teenagers die on the roads on a daily basis and after a few days, its forgotten about(it seems).

Many people 'go to work in BKK' and I often wonder if that is an euphomism for other activity (Pattaya/Phuket bars or been done away with in a rice field somewhere?) Just a hunch, thats all, after living here full time for a while.

Of course death doesn't have the impact here in Thailand as compared to our western countries. If you've lived here for a while then perhaps you'd understand that one of the reasons for this is their religion, Buddhism.

But also if you want to go there for perhaps a western inner-city such as Detroit or Chicago, it'll be the same but not because of religion.

I was just trying to seek a little info regarding the incident as it hits too close to my place and for a small town like Prasat it's not an everyday occurrence.

Hi DingDongRB, Just got confirmation from Gary, yes, a 15 year old boy was beaten up by a group and then nobody realised that while he was on the ground he was stabbed several times, died in hospital..R.I.P.

Seems another typical mob handed Thai fracas, do not know what the reason was though.

Over the years there have been several attacks and fights related to the Karaoke bar at the end of the soi, mainly due to the katoeys there, but dont think this is related.
