Buying A Gaming Pc Any Suggestion On This?thx

playing on my current old PC more then a decade,would like to play any new game that i've missed from couple of years ago to next gen that will come.

Just been reading about new Assassins creed 4 black flag,gta5,battlefield 3 which maybe would come this year.Games looks awesome.

I went to Pantip and several others ,everywhere has very wide selection of prebuilt PC-s,but i dont understand really much about hardware.

The best i could find and that i think its good is -

I wouldn't recommend that computer. I think you can find something much better for around 40.000 baht. The biggest problem is the gfx card, it just dosen't hold up

against other cards on the market now. I would also suggest that you aim at something with at least 8 gb ram, as thats what Ps4 and probably the new Xbox will have.

Otherwise most looks ok, but perhaps aiming at a bluray reader is a good planning for future as games will be bigger and the time of dvd is coming to an end in the coming years.

In short everything looks ok except I would say get at least 8 gb ram, a better gfx card and bluray reader if you can. Look at the ps4 spec, and google on gaming computers around

40.000-45.000 baht for further help.

An absolutely brilliant website for building pcs and what budget you got.

I'll mention that no game requires more than 4gb ddram 3 yet, so a 2 pack 1600mhz 4g is enough to save for a nice (ssd drive) in tHAILAND your best bet for a solid state drive is an intel for sure. that'll make your os (win 7 professional I suggest) run super quick and any game load like nothing youve ever seen. hd radeon cards are great but check on tomshardware for great comparisons.

if you want to build a pc and check prices use www.jib.co.th their prices are very reasonable for Thailand but are a few months behind compared to the us or uk.

is there any reason why you want to go with pre-built PC? The best thing you can do is choose part yourself(they can install everything for you if u cant)

Frankly this build that you choose is worth less then 20000baht.GPU is terrible,not even a gaming gpu

3770k is only for video editing etc,it can be overclocked but they didnt even put cpu cooler in it.

For 42000baht for gaming pc get something like this

i5 3570k 7000baht

cpu cooler hyper 212 1000baht

extreme4 motherboard - 4000baht

8GB ram 1600mhz 2000baht

some nice custom gpu hd7970 - vapor or sapphire 15.000baht

dont know what is 10/100/1000 LAN but every motherboard comes with ethernet network already

and else what you have choosen already is fine

and what adt1980 said trow in some SSD

You can also trow a nice 1080p 23" monitor and still you would not top more then 42000baht,what left trow a BF3 and can of beer.

prebuilt pc-s are worse,much more costly then when you choose part yourself

All my PC's from day 1 so many years ago, even my Laptops have always been AMD...

AMD CPU is a lot cheaper than Intel....... The new Piledriver based AMD FX is faster than the i7 Intel 3770K Processor + a lot cheaper

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe you can just use your old card in the new box.

i7 (only 2-3k more than i5)

8GB RAM (that is plenty and easy/cheap to add more later)

GTX 660 Ti 2GB (this was pricey, about 11k)

Not sure what my motherboard is, basically the above 3 things are the most important. I also got a kick ass jet black case with lots of fans and vents so it stays cool. Whole rig cost about 35k and then got a 23 inch 1080p HD monitor for 6k.

My rig plays the following games without breaking a sweat and they usually auto adjust to the high settings:

Battlefield 3 (still the benchmark game for graphics in my opinion)

Batman Arkham City

Far Cry 3

Skyrim

Arma 3

I checked the specs for Crysis 3 the other week and I will be able to play that on high settings too

First of all, the price and setup they gave you is a complete garbage ripoff(won't run GTA5 decently even in the lowest settings), avoid that shop.

Don't EVER take a Geforce with a low second digit 630 (or 530, 730). Anything less than 5 will really suck on a desktop (but acceptable for laptops).

When taking Geforces, get the highest second digit you can afford.

Personally I'd go for a 770 nowadays, or a 760 if you have to save more. If you find a good price, a 670 will be fine as well.

Also get yourself 8gb of ram (2x4gb sticks) instead of 6gb. Actually 6gb doesn't makes sense because you would end up with 3x2gb sticks losing the dual ddr function (it has to be pairs, 2 or 4 sticks)

And finally, SSD instead of HD (or both if possible). A HD as a main storage will slow down your computer a lot.

Without any problems u can simply change in bios just 1 setting and you'll be going 4,0-4,1 with ANY (incl stock) cooler without problems for many many years.

Don't go for a h77 board, even if you for whatever reason don't want to overclock. Go for a z77 around 3500b and you be fine.

As for gfx, go for the new 760 gtx, 770 is also fine but you can better save some cash on ssd as the overall performance will be HUGE compared to any hdd.

Yes they have the most recent models (but no 18 inch version ones in Malaysia at least)- ill be going to KL next week for work and will check out the dell store there- if they dont have what im looking for (alienware 17, 770 or 780 gtx nvidia M) then ill use air miles and hop over to singapore for a day or two to check out a Alienware shop that opened there last year..

Built it yourself and use the parts you really like. It is simpler than anybody thinks.

For 40 k you can get a dream machine, with better specs than the ones you quoted. Banana it, bib computers and invadeit have good prices.

I have done that last year an am still very happy with that decission. These ready built machines always had something I did not like.
