How Much Does The Installation Of Public Water Supply Cost?

Featured Replies

I put the pipe in my self and connected to the main 75mm pipe and bought the meter and installed it cost will vary from job to job .

The big joke is Tha-Yang Amper charged me b 120 to start billing me. 11yrs ago.

Maybe it varies by district, but yeah - the "gov" puts in a supply line and the consumer is supposed to do the connection and put in a meter at own cost. That's how we did it also. I worried about shutting of the supply when doing the connection but, as it turned out, just had to wait for "nam mai lai" and did it then.

Yup to the above (we're in Pathum Thani).

Our contractor used a saddle connector to the government pipe and a certified (sealed) water meter from the local builders merchant.

Water company came and read the meter and started billing.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

In Pattaya you have to take a meter from the water office.

Nicely priced at 3600 Baht!

On top of that you pay a security deposit.

For a temporary (construction) supply this is another 5350 Baht.

For a permanent meter the total cost is around 5000 Baht.

Connected to the local water supply. Last house on the line. Meter 380 baht, cutoff valve 135 baht plus cost of pipe and fittings. No hook up fee. Current water cost 5 baht per unit.

Ouch in Bang Saray you supply the meter. ours was around 400 baht or so. The water is fairly cheap as well. with a borehole I would have to live another 30+ years to pay for itself. Same with electric meters Dirt cheap at homepro but they make you fork out major baht for the meter & deposits & you are forced to use their meters. At least they switched to smart meters here in our new house & our bill went down by 600-700 baht per bill.

FYI: Near Ban Dung (Udon Thani) our monthly water bill is about 30 baht. Yeah.
