Let's Keep It Alive

Featured Replies

I mean the Isaan forum. We all miss the comments of Jim. His comments were always an invitation for a lively discussion.

There is a large number of farangs living in the Isaan with internet connection. What keeps you from posting? Just daily events. A daily event to you, might be a beautiful story to outsiders.

If no such input is forthcoming on a regular basis, I am afraid the "Isaan-Forum" will become an other "central-thailand forum," etc. etc.with the disadvantage that nobody reads this stuff.

So folks, lets have it.

Otherwise we will be reduced to major questionings like " where can I get a close shave while having my feet massaged at the same time". I believe there are much better stories coming from the Isaan.

Cheers.

So how about you starting something off?

Maybe because certain people on TV tend to try and dominate forum threads backed up by a small gang of friends. Most people tire of it quickly and move on. No one person is an expert on thailand no matter how long they have lived here or how much land and money they claim to have. We is not everyone.

I always check out the Isaan Forum, but it is too generic really.

It represents 1/3 (or more??) of the entire country, including loads of different cities and provinces.

Thus, one must look through a lot of threads/posts to find something form the area of interests.

Hell with the foot massage. The barber in my town pops your zits:)

You lucky blighter! That sort of thing used to be standard in the good ol' days of yore, along with the old chimney sweep in the ears device, but in these troubled times, I had to ask the barber today to cut my nasal and ear hair. He did it, a bit grudgingly I suspect, but what is the world coming to, when these essentials aren't part of the all-in package? He also neglected the shoulder rub and cool towels on the forehead experience, that used to be the icing on the cake. rolleyes.gif

Please don't discuss moderation in the open forum. It's against forum rules. One post removed.

21) Not to discuss moderation publicly in the open forum; this includes individual actions, and specific or general policies and issues. You may send a PM to a moderator to discuss individual actions or email support (at) thaivisa.com to discuss moderation policy. Members should not block contact with moderators or administrators. Doing so will result in suspension.

I would be more inclined to read & post on this or any other Forum if members would take to heart the quote in its many forms attributed (rightly or wrongly) to Mark Twain:

I didn't have time to write to you a one page letter so I wrote to you a two page letter.

That said, one might enjoy ramblings on the blog Issan Life (search with that spelling).

Mr. Collister has been banned and this doesn't happen "just like this". Without going into the details of this particular case, generally a ban follows a discussion in the mods' forum whether or not this member should be banned. Usually, this discussion starts only after a member has racked up a significant number of warnings.

In short: bans do not "just happen"

As the entire thread is discussing an act of moderation which is not allowed by our rules, it is closed now.
