Experts warn the public to exercise caution against summer diseases

Experts in Preventative Medicine have issued a warning to the public to exercise caution against summer diseases, especially diarrhea in children.

Dr. Vithoon Lueangdirok (์วิฑูรย์ เหลืองดิลก), Preventative Medicine expert for the public health office of Trang province, stated that every summer, diarrhea, rabies, and dysentery outbreaks have been reported. Diarrhea is especially found in 2,000 people out of every 100,000. The disease affects children between the age of 1 month and 5 years, due to contamination of food and water. Dr. Vithoon says prevention is simple, by avoiding unhygienic food and water, and eating hot food, or properly preserved food.

Dr. Vithoon adds that restaurants with certified quality of food should be selected. Washing hands is also a major preventive measure.
