Internet Speed Very Slow For Several Days

Featured Replies

I have been with 3BB for a couple of years, they have always been pretty good and reliable and any speed problems have been short-lived. However, for 4 days now the speed has been so low that simple surfing has been painful. I have averaged around 0.3 mb during this time, and according to friends I am not the only one with this problem.

My question is simply does anyone know why this is happening? Is it related to the power upgrade somehow? I have tried phoning 3BB but have not been able to get a straight answer. I live in Bangrak if that makes a difference to any reply smile.png Thanks in advance.

Check your modem statistics. See how many errors you have on the line compared to ok packets.

Errors should be almost nothing. If not change your modem at 3bb shop tesco lotus chaweng

I think if you surf in Western countries and America you can change what you want because it seem there was some serious problem with the cable in the Arabic Sea, some was catched as they want cut some underwater cable sad.png if there was a serious damage as few years ago I was not following up. Try check internet speed with different countries and you will see http://www.speedtest.net/

Thx guys, I'm not sure what settings/stats are good or bad. My router says...
noise margin of 7 on DL and 5 UL
attenuation 30 DL and 7 UL
output power 114 DL 28 UL

can't find any info on 'errors' but do these figures hint at a router problem? It's about 3 years old now, a belkin F5D7634 so I wouldn't be too surprised if its finally started dying on me!

speedtest-wise, the 0.3 average is from the Bangkok server, results from UK are basically the same. Any advice and suggestions are gratefully received, excuse my luddite-ness smile.png

There is something wrong with Internet on island for 2 days now!cant use e mail but can use other things,i know of 3 people having this problem!

thanks for all the replies, seems like its a 3BB problem, not a router problem, seeing as many people are having the same results. I can't get any more stats as all the software seems to be windoze and I'm on Mac. Looks like I'll have to wait till it magically reappears as a useable speed. Thanks again

May or may not be related, but I currently have TOT ADSL on Phangan and it's been completely offline for 3 days now. No explanation given and no idea when it will come back online. I have AIS EDGE through my phone as backup.

Mine as been business as usual (Lamai) though the free wifi which is also 3bb has been slow for a while I'm told.

I was able to stream programmes on Saturday without any probs, but couldn't yesterday due to buffering (3bb).

Living also in the Bangrak area - just come back from HK this friday, so I don't know how long have this issue, but through the weekend I also notice some short breakups. Not really speed issue, but few seconds break of connection.

Today is it so far OK, hope they just doing some cable upgrades, and fix the issue ASAP.
