Teen masseuse falls from fourth floor after argument with boyfriend

PHUKET: -- A 17-year-old masseuse is in a coma after falling from the fourth floor of a building following an argument with her boyfriend.

The young woman was discovered unconscious and severely injured on the ground behind the Phuket Town massage parlor where she worked, a Kusoldharm Foundation rescue worker told the Phuket Gazette.

Rescue workers administered emergency first aid before rushing the masseuse to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

A friend of the woman told the Gazette that the 17-year-old had argued with her boyfriend outside her room. The friend heard the boyfriend leave and heard the woman enter her own room alone.

“At about 4:50am we all heard a banging noise like something hard hitting the ground in the back of the building. We looked down from the window and saw her lying unconscious on the ground,” said the friend.

The police are continuing to investigate the case.

I hate to sound morbid, but perhaps there should be a "People falling from balconies" forum on TV. I've never seen such an epidemic like this anywhere in the world.

Yes, 'falling from balconies' is clearly a particularly Thai illness. And contagious too! Shortly after an argument, one or other of the antagonists seems to very suddenly develop the condition.

Wouldn't seem unusual if he broke-up with her and she tried to commit suicide. Thai are quite dramatic about their relationship woes.

So are farang, especially just after they realise they have lost their life savings in a house / condo / apartment / farm / land/ business - that wasn't in their name.

And "People falling from balconies" forum should further be subdivided into "Thais falling from balconies" AND "Farangs falling from balconies".

It is clearly noted in Fear and Loathing in Pattaya - available through some book outlets or eBooks - all about how balconies contribute to the demise of Farang. Could it be Thai's can suffer the same fate?

I lived in Pattaya for a couple of years and a foreigner " falling " to his death was a very regular occurrence. If memory serves most, if not all, had Thai wives or girlfriends
