PATTAYA:--Despite promises from local government officials and government ministers from Bangkok to introduce immediate checks on boat operators and their crews and to provide better support and policing of vessels used to transport tourists, we have determined that absolutely nothing has changed since the accident last Sunday which saw 19 Korean Tourists injured, 6 seriously.

On Wednesday afternoon we visited the Bali Hai Port situated at the Southern end of Pattaya Beach which is used by scores of boats that transport tourists to and from Islands around the coast of Pattaya.

Tea-money rates to operate the boats have increased or will increase, I bet.

Was at Koh Larn yesterday and saw too many SPEEEEEEEEDBOATS to count. Chinese and Japanese and Korean and Russian tourists all over. Did the boat operators care? Apparently not.......they seemed all be in a race! TIT

What do you expect to happen?

Officials out:

  • Counting how many passengers each boat carries
  • Checking each boat has a notice stating how many passengers can be carried
  • Checking each boat has sufficient life perseveres for the maximum number of passengers
  • Checking the boat drivers licence
  • Drug and Alcohol testing the driver
  • Checking the boats sea worthiness

Dream on... this is Pattaya

I have never figured out why anyone, tourist or otherwise, would want to go to Pattaya. There are countless other destinations in SE Asia that are more worthy of a person's time.

But this is me. Perhaps someone else could explain its appeal?

Sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex !

Sex sells !

more farangs coming for sex = more money for Thailand !!

And better for Thailand's economy.
