This is the same guy that admitted to buying his way out of a rape charge in Thailand.

He's as guilty as sin.

Convict him, and put him back in jail.

That'll do nicely........and the Thai family should go for civil damages against his estate.

Alli can say is, let him go home and die at home coffee1.gif

Thailand has more other problems to look at in the back garden rolleyes.gifwhistling.gif

Maybe you would like to think for just a second how YOU would feel if this nonce abused your children.....

Good point. I would ask my 15 year old daughter how this man abused her with her friends in the same room, and being a decent man, I would be able to tell if there were truth in it. Then I would visit the fellow myself and save the courts a lot of money.

On the one hand, you are assuming that a Thai parent thinks like you do. Not so as indicative of the headlines we read daily. It's a no-brainer.

On the other hand, were the father a foreigner, then one could refer back to paragraph one of this post. Problem solved. One will notice that half-halfs are not the victims of these sort of crimes in the Kingdom, if ever. The point being that foreign fathers and mothers might possibly be more involved with their child's welfare.

So you would beat a 93-year old man up then?Wow,you must be one tough guy there!sick.gif

I would like to say how good it is to see this maturity, at least from some members. Words like evidence, fair and trial in one sentence is just wonderful.

There is an element of questioning coming into the discussion, which is a first for me.

Bear in mind at 90+ there is little he could have done to anyone.

The only question for me is who informed the police. Of course they will be Thai. They will have a BiB relative. This will be about money, and the biggest likelihood is that a Thai woman will be after his money. The other likelihood is that the mother of the "victim" worked in a bar.

It's a no-brainer,just look at the guy!

Any 15 year old girl could snap his arms and legs off, this is the part of living in Thailand that really gets me,they always prey on the old and vunerable Farangs here, disgraceful!sick.gif

I see the liberals are out in force, not here! If he gets found guilty I hope he burns in hell for it, as I have said in previous posts on this topic I really can't see the lazy AR#*d BIB chasing someone all the way to Burma for nothing. Its difficult enough to get them do something on real crimes let alone non events. Although I'm sure there will be some lefties with interesting conspiracy theories to follow this post. No doubt it was all just a ploy by BIB to separate poor old whitey from his old age pension and blah, blah blah.

The threat to burn in hell is for an atheist what the threat not to receive gifts from Santa Claus is for an adult. Pathetic.

All about the money.........what say you now that you know he bought his way out of a rape charge?

His money worked well for him there eh?

Let the evidence be openly stated and let's see what comes from that. At this point it is all allegations, conjecture and the only concrete fact is he popped off to Burma illegally.

As the story unfolds I doubt even a blue pill would help this guy get to a point where he could molest anything other than a banana peel, unless he was a virile athlete at 90! wink.png

Either way anyone can tell he is not long for this earth.

Few months ago a red taxi driver in Chiangmai RAPED a 15 year old girl I know and he got away with it by donating 10k to her mother... Better Thailand manage their own 'huge moral problem' first, IMHO.

Try doing some homework about the case over the last 4 years before giving an uninformed opinion

He popped of to Burma illegally after jumping bail on the pedophile charges. Swam across a river to boot to acheive his escape

This is terrible. The guy looks like someone who has just been liberated from a concentration camp.

As for the charges against him, I simply don`t believe it.

The only conclusion I see coming out of this, is that the old man will die of stress before he is sentenced.

Why not just deport him back to Australia and let them deal with the problem? Probably place him in an old people`s home where he belongs.

It`s shocking and distressing to watch.

If he's guilty why would he deserve to be placed in a home?

There was a thread about this man some time back. The lawyer mentions that he is suffering from dementia. People with dementia can have a change in behavior. If he was a pedophile, he would most likely have a reasonably long history of contact with children--whether prosecuted or not.

I have no idea about his guilt or innocence, but he should have a good medical workup before being sentenced, if he is found guilty.

While some of your statement is possible in many cases and does happen, this comment in bold is quite telling of your attitude to this type of thing.

So you believe using his finger to molest, using any other object to molest, taking photos of said molestation and sending photos of to others or just for his own enjoyment is not possible?

Keep in mind while you ponder this, he apparently escaped across borders to another country unaided at the time when the incidents took place.

His current look and condition could and most likely is a rapid deterioration of health all things considered, but he seemed to be most spritely a few years back.

He has been charged in a previous similar case but released for insufficient evidences.

And yes he had to pay a sum who was inferior to the original claim of the charges. This is usual in Thai Law.

By paying this amount he avoids that the victim can charge him again, even if he was found completely not guilty.

A sort of win/win procedure.

I would like to know if the parents and housemaid were aware of the first previous case/accusations.

This detail is for me the turning point of this case. Not his latest Cooper test results...or oxygen consumption in average river-water...

Did the police/social workers informed the neighborhood/parents/housemaid after the first trial ?

If yes, how is it still possible that your kids can play with such a neighbor ?

If no, what are the shared responsibilities of justice now ?

Hard to believe that there was no usual, typical local and effective gossip before and after the first trial.

Just a random collective blackout perhaps...

I am sure if he were 30-40 years younger there would be Aussie and Thai cops all around with the usual finger pointing and smug grins, in this state not much kudos and in fact maybe a negative impact on the Australian police, their absence speaks volumes and probably do not want anything to do with it.

Just look at the guy? He could be knocked over with a feather, suffering from dementia and cancer, literally on his last legs. Any 15 year old could easily overpower this frail old man. And 100 child pornography images discovered on his computer. Does anyone really believe that this man could be computer savvy and know from where to obtain these images and how to download them? Especially if he is in an advanced state of dementia.

Even if he mentally wanted to rape someone, I strongly doubt that he would be able to rise to the occasion.

And now there is mention of money being involved. He claimed that he was told the case would be dropped if he agreed to bribe police with a sum equivalent to £10,000.

Something stinks here and I’m not convinced of this old man’s guilt.

One look at him and his prophesy that he will be dead before the court rules seems hardly prophetic.

The guy will spend the end of his days in hell and let's hope the court give the public it's conclusion

even if the guy does expire, so that it is known if he would have been convicted or not.

Why waste money on a court case if he dies. There must be some firm evidence as to what he is accused of.

They should hurry up and lock him up. He's not got long so need to get him in a Thai jail quick so he can start his ass kicked.

First you mention and praise items like: evidence, fair ... trial, people questioning the details of this situation.

Then you say "there is little he could have done." Well that's your opinion and I suspect (repeat suspect) many would disagree, he could have used his fingers and apart from entering with his fingers and causing mental and emotional anguish which could hang around for decades he could have caused severe pain. All maybe and I hasten to add without evidence (at least not to my knowledge).

Then you make numerous assumptions:

- Who informed the police - "of course they will be Thai". Well they are Thai but so what?

- "They will have a BiB relative." So your assuming that parents without a relative in the police would not have informed the police. Strange assumption to say the least.

- "This will be about money." So you have totally discarded the possibility is that it's about informing so that the perpetrator is punishment and hopefully prevented from doing it to other children?

- "and the biggest likelihood is that a Thai woman will be after his money." So you believe that every 'situation' involves Thai women looking to scam money? Perhaps you should explore Thailand a little more and get a better overall perspective of what Thailand is all about.

- "The other likelihood is that the mother of the "victim" worked in a bar." Why would that be? Is it not possible that the mother is just a local woman, who has every right to demand action and demand proper investigation and due punishment?

If he is this old & sick what is he doing in Asia in the 1st place? Atleast the other inmates are helping him but he is probably going to die in Thai prison unless he is released quick back to his home country.

Why would you question why anyone would be anywhere? Is his being in Asia at his age in some way distasteful to you? (Before you say it - I'm 50 and happily working in Asia)

Alli can say is, let him go home and die at home coffee1.gif

So you've decided he is a nonce then? Just hope you are never in the position to be accused of something you didn't do in Thailand

"However, while free on bail he was apparently seen driving around Chiang Mai and did not seem to be in poor health." ....

Lets not forget that when the guy was arrested and bailed he was 91 yrs old. The health and physical abilities of a person in thier 90's can deteriorate quite quickly especially if being held in a rat/coackroach infested thai cell. Given the same circumstances if held in Australia he would be in a hospice type enviroment with 24/7 nursing staff available and be fitter.

I am not defending the guy and despise rock spiders but saying just because he could dance the jig at 91 doesn't mean he should still be able to tread the boards at 93.

And imagine you were accused of something you didn't do - it's not like this is unheard of in Thailand . . . or would you enjoy it?

The whole Burma thing . . . the BiB didn't 'chase' him to Burma, he was handed over to Thai authorities after he was chucked out for overstaying his visa as far as I know . . . and here's a question . . . if anyone of us would be falsely accused of raping little kids, who wouldn't do a runner to the next border. (I'm not saying he did or didn't do it, that immaterial in this question)
