Best 3G Package For 500Mb-1Gb Volume

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have an ipad and am looking to get a 3G package for it. I have wifi at my workplace and at home so only need 3G when I'm moving/travelling. I can control my usage well and will not exceed 1GB (or possibly 500MB). What do you think is the most reasonable package?

I see that dtac has a 299 baht/month for 1GB/ first 6 months/new customer package. Should I go for this one or the AIS 350baht/1GB/30days.

Thanks in advance.

You should first identify those service providers which offer 3G service in the primary locales you frequent.

Then choose that provider's plan, pre-paid or post-paid, which meets/exceeds your monthly data and budget requirements.

All three major service providers: AIS/One-2-Call, DTAC/Happy and TrueMove H have similar offers.

You may want to choose a plan which offers unlimited internet usage, even with a FuP speed limit ranging from 64 Kbps to 384 Kbps, as this offers the most flexibility. With hard-capped plans you pay by the KB, MB or minute once you go over your cap, and this can quickly deplete an account balance.

TrueMove H has a Net 450 (450 baht) pre-paid plan which provides 1 GB, unlimited (FuP) is 128 Kbps.

DTAC/Happy have a 1 GB unlimited plan for 399 baht, FuP is 64 Kbps.

Thanks Iomatopo. I have done the steps you suggested. That's how I came up with the two plans in my first post. Dtac has a promotion which allows me to pay 299 baht in the first six months for the 399 baht/month you suggested.
