Creepy crocodile roams free in the Nakhornpathom Village.

Residents were shocked to discover the meter long reptile wandering in their village. Due to the hot weather, it is assumed that the croc escaped from it's cage in search of food. Officers were in a rush to capture it.

NAKORNPRATHOM – May 4th, 2013 [PDN]; authorities of Sarmqaipheuak Police Station in Nakhornpathom province were notified from concerned residents in Siriwan Village about a crocodile loose in the neighborhood.

HM the King recovering from lung inflammation

BANGKOK, May 5 – His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is recovering from lung inflammation but is still experiencing some fatigue, according to the Royal Household Bureau.

The inflammation was diagnosed on April 28. According to the 65th statement of the Royal Household Bureau released today, an X-ray showed that inflammation has eased. His Majesty the King can now sleep well but does not yet have much appetite. He still has some fatigue and doctors advised the King to temporarily refrain from official duties.

The team of royal physicians at Siriraj Hospital have continued to administer antibiotics intravenously to treat the King.

His Majesty the King designated His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to be his representative to perform a ceremony on Coronation Day this Sunday. (MCOT online news)

Two soldiers killed in Narathiwat bombing

NARATHIWAT, May 5 – Two soldiers were killed and three others wounded in a bombing in the violence-plagued province of Narathiwat.

The remotely-detonated bomb hidden at a bridge in Rueso district exploded as their vehicle was passing. They were on their way to bring fish to local farmers for breeding.

Meanwhile, additional 660 police officers were posted to this southern province at police stations in all 13 districts.

The new batch of police officers is to provide security to relieve a shortage of personnel in the province. Pol Col Kritsada Kaewchandee, deputy commander of the Narathiwat Provincial police said that their direct responsibility is to maintain order and prevent further violence in the South. 600 dogs seized in Sakon Nakhon

SAKON NAKHON, May 5--- Approximately 600 dogs destined for the meat trade in Vietnam were rescued by local authorities on Sunday in this northeastern province.

Provincial livestock officials, police officers and a non-governmental group working on anti-dog trade operations raided a forested area in Sakon Nakhon’s Kusuman district.

Following the raid, officials found and seized 60 cages crammed with 600 dogs along with 40 empty cages. The dogs were about to be shipped across the Mekong River and destined for sale in Vietnam.

However, the smugglers were able to flee the scene.

The rescued dogs will be transferred to the Nakhon Phanom Animal Quarantine Station where sick and injured animals will be screened for proper treatment.

According to officials, the animal quarantine station was already crowded with some 2,000 canines, however, more space will be provided for the seized dogs. (MCOT online news)
