chuckd Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congratulations to Thongchai Jaidee for reaching the finals of the Volvo Match Play Championship. He lost to Graeme McDowell 2-1 in the finals on one of the most spectacular courses I have ever seen. A job well done and a great representative for Thailand.
Thailand Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Well done TJ Yes,amazing course. How about the Colsaerts toilet drop!
Dorkers Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Love the fact that Thongchai took up golf later in life, self taught with a 5 iron head and a bamboo shaft. Thaworn Wiratchant the same sort of background. Bit different from all those hi-so kids that get dragged along for golf lessons from year dot, given brand new gear and have every opportunity under the sun. I know a 16 yearold in BKK who plays off two and has turned pro - gets a 60000 baht a month scholarship from PTT to play golf. Who does his dad work for? PTT. The trick in the male golf game is you really have to be something special to come out of the pack and hit the big stage, womens golf is an easier door to open in my opinion - same goes with ladies tennis. Easier to produce a 'product' and achieve a reasonable level of success.
Puyai Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Yep, well done TJ but he didn't really need to take the driver out on fourteen!
chuckd Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 The Thai girls are having a favorable impact on the LPGA as well. Congratulations to the fair sex also.
