Featured Replies

'Saddam's Secrets' a book by Former Iraqi Airforce General (2nd in command) George Sada

I watched an interview on Television with this chap.

Claims Saddam did have Weapons of Mass destruction and moved them by ground- and air-transport to Syria.

Anybody read or heard of this book?

Article about it here:

Yep…it’s all coming out of the woodwork now – much to the disappointment of the B-Fly and other apologists & appeasers ‘round here. Also, some new information from those recently released Iraqi documents that’s not exactly surprising—but it will be interesting to watch the diplomatic fallout now that it seems to be confirmed: Pentagon: Russia Gave Saddam War Intel.

BAGHDAD, Iraq — "The Russian government had sources inside the American military command as the U.S. mounted the invasion of Iraq, and the Russians passed information to Saddam Hussein on troop movements and plans, according to Iraqi documents released as part of a Pentagon report.

The Russians relayed information to Saddam during the opening days of the 2003 war, including a crucial moment before the assault on Baghdad, according to the documents in the report Friday.

The unclassified report does not assess the value of the information or provide details beyond citing two captured Iraqi documents that say the Russians collected information from sources “inside the American Central Command” and that battlefield intelligence was provided to Saddam through the Russian ambassador in Baghdad."

:o

Could it be that the General is another western loving Iranian spy ?

Think Boon Mee, for more than 2 milliseconds for once. Or do you just like to be manipulated ?

I think the idea of the WMDs being smuggled into Syria just before the US invasion is a lark.

All of the various intelligence agencies (including a huge amount of US resources) watching everything happening in Iraq prior to the invasion, and none of them detected anything ? The CIA "supposedly" had enough information on these WMDs to "convince" GWB that an invasion was needed.

This information was supposedly confirmed by other intelligence agencies, which led to Britain and others to join the invasion.

Then, suddenly, it all just up and disappears without a trace ?

And no tell-tale signs left behind ?

And no human intel from the people would would have done the smuggling (except for one high level former officer, General Sada, see below).

AND, supposedly, 3 months before the invasion Saddam told his top generals that he/they/Iraq didn't have any WMDs. They were "supposedly" surprised by this, as they "thought" they did have them ! His top generals, the people who would have actually used those weapons if required, didn't even know whether or not they actually had any WMDs ? They only thought they did ?

And nobody knew where it went (until 3 years later when this General suddenly pops up with a book to promote ?)

Where was this general 3 years ago, when his information could have been useful ?

From a review of this "startling" new book:

"Sada's book offers no overwhelming new proof of the Iraq-Syria WMD connection (he was not a first-hand witness to the transport of weapons, but he is friends with an Iraqi who claims to have participated in the transfer"

There you have it ! Incontrovertible proof from a guy who has a friend who claims to know something. :o

Hahaha, I have to laugh after reading more of the review. This "friend" who claims to have been involved ? Turns out he is a civilian pilot who "witnessed" several commercial 747 flights between Iraq and Syria almost a year before the war. (A dam had burst in Syria in June 2002 and they had requested assistance from Iraq and Jordan to deal with the problem). He claims Iraq used that as a cover to move their WMDs.

General Sada also tries to protray himself (in his book) as being one of the few people with the courage to stand up to Saddam. He claims to have defied Uday (one of Saddam's sons) at one point, and ended up in jail for a couple of weeks and that's it. Supposedly kept his position and no further reprisals.

Pretty easy to claim you were able to show defiance to Saddam (or his family) now, when they are no longer in a position to execute you, as they would have done if the story was true.

As for the far-right crowd. They got burned when no WMDs were found. That was the whole justification for the war in the first place. Now they desperately grasp at any straw, no matter how thin or suspect, that looks like it might show they were right all along.

Think about this. IF Saddam had WMDs, and managed to smuggle them into Syria under the noses of the various intelligence agencies, why haven't those agencies found any proof of them in Syria ? They've had 3+ years now, and not a whisper about Syria having WMDs.

In fact, the possiblity of Syria having WMDs is ignored as the US attention is focused on Iran.

Is the Dog being Wagged again ? (Poor doggy has been getting a good work-out while GWB has been in office :D )

It's another book designed to sell. And the author (read: ghost-writer) knows what to type to get attention in the overcrowded market-place.

Even IF the WMDs supposudly was moved well before the invasion, it is only another proof how flawed the intel was. Not that Boon Me & Co will even grasp that concept...

Heck, they even believed Iraq was getting Uranium from Kenya...

It is a well known fact that Saddam had and used WMDs in the past.

Do you really think that he wouldn't have developed them again? :o

I'm guessing you just don't get it?

It's ok. Keep Singing 'dubaya-my-lord, dubaya' before going to sleep...

You and Tippaporn just drop some more acid and keep humming Greatful Dead songs. :o

Better than having those rose-colored glasses welded to your face 24/7 and singing 'Kumbaya'! :D

OH, almost forgot the Unicorns dancing merrily in the fields too. :o

Highly probable that this happened, however it doesnt fit the wars' detractors view, so you won't see the mass media reporting this anytime soon, they prefer to bury it. :o

Better than the Ketamine habit you were introduced to by the 'Thapae Gate crowd'.

Those katoeys are no good, pal. :o

ok, so what is and where is that "Thapae Gate" ? never heard of it. Maybe I am missing something interesting :o

You should know your main source of information better than this. :o

Fox-"News" are not going to run a feature on this? :D

When you send the pic of yourself in the boxing ring, and the one with Tippaporn, Lamphun and myself in the swimming pool to Georgie, he will reveal his secrets... :o

Same same. I don't think it will make the news. As I pointed out in my other post, this guy's story is so full of holes, I don't think even Faux would risk covering it.

You have to be a little more credible than "I know a guy who claims to have been somewhere when something happened". :D

Well can't remember the source, but from what I recall they have Saddam and his top generals on tape discussing on moving WMD(s) to Syria if a US invasion occurs.

The book will compensate for the blown military carreer and give him a cushy retirement. :o
